SAFE REMOVED FROM SHOP

BURGLARS ACTIVE IN LEVIN • During the early hours of Sunday morning, the premises of Messrs Carter Bros., in Oxford Street, were broken into and a safe containihg mbney removed. The safe was taken out through the back door and carried away, presumably on a motor vehicle. The fact that the safe was by no means a small one suggests that more than one burglar was involved -in its removal. Two butchers' chdppers were also removed from the shop, prob&bly to be used in an at ? tempt to open the back of the safl , The police would appreciafc / having any informatiori leading to the early recovery of the safe. It is ' painted black, with a green dopr and its dimensions are 20 x 20 x 30 inches. It weighs about 2 cwt.
