LABOUR ANNOUNCES MORE CANDIDATES

WELLINGTON, Aug. 9. With the aniiouncement last night that Ihe national exocntive of Ihe New Zealand Labour Party has approved the! nomination of a further 28 candidates' for the 1946 general election, the party j now has candidates for 52 seats. The Prime Minister (Alr. Fraser), iU was announced on behalf of the nation- j al executive, was ihe unanimous choice of branches and aililiations for the new! Brooklyn seat. j New candidates for Wellington seats: includo the formor General ATanager! of Raihvays, Alr. E. Casev, for Mt.j \'ictoria, and Alr. P. C. AlcGavin for 'Karori. The national secretary of the party, Alr. AL Aloohan, will contest the new Petone seat. The Minister of Finance, Alr. Nash, who now represents Hutt, will be the party 's candidate for the Hutt seat.
