COUNCIL FORMS COMMiTTEE When a letter from the New Zealand branch of the Britisn Afedical Association was brought oefore the notice of the .'Shannon Borough Council at ;its fortnightly meeting on Tuesday evening, concerning the. possibilifcy of a resident doctor for Shannon, the Mayor (Mr. R. E. Downes) stated that the oiatter reverted back to the old oroblem, that of providing a louse. The matter of providing a lcctor's residence was discussed at ,ome length by all councillors present, and on the motion of Cr. Lind it was decided to set up a xommittee comprising the Mayor, Crs. Clayton and Roach and the :own clerk (Mr. J. T. Bovis) to go inco the possibility of purchasing a ■ocal residence for a doctor, or to discuss other solutions which might result in Shannon having a resident doctor, thus fulfilling a iong-felt want in the town.
