OBITUARY

MRS. A. C. R. 'EATON Another old identity in the person of Mrs. Annie Caroline Rhodes Eaton passed away at a private hospital in Wellington on Monday morning. The deceased, who was 82 years of age, had resided. in the Wairarapa for many_ years, where she was well-known for her many charitable acts and her great interest in church work. The late Mrs. Eaton was born in England. She came to New Zeaiand about sixty years ago, and had lived a strenuous life in doing good for others. For the past few years Mrs. Eaton had not enjoyed the best of health, but nevertheless enjoyed visits in various parts of New Zealand, spending a good deal of time in the Wairarapa, Palmerston North and Otaki, where she possessed many friends. A grownup family is left to mourn her passing, among the number being Roly (Otaki), Sid (Dannevirke) and Lena (Auckland). The funeral will take place at Carterton to-morrow.
