SICKNESS PREVALENT
SCHOOL ROLL SUFFERS Colds, influenza and mumps kept 134' children out of a total roll of 586 away from the Levin School today. One woodwork class from Ohau, which usually consists of 15 pupils, could only muster nine. The primer section has only 140 present from a total of 200. The -headmaster (Mr. H. F. McClune) said to-day that the situation had been the same for almost two weeks. There had been two cases of scarlet fever, but no more had been reported. It is not only the schools that are feeling the results of the prevalence of colds and other ailments at present. Offices and shops in Levin seem to be troubled with absence of staff. Most homes seem to have at least one member of the family in bed with a cold, mumps pr influenza. ' * •
