The sending of troops to Basra for the protection of British, Indian and Arab lives and to safeguard British and lndian interests, is a preeautionarv move against the possible breakdown of law and order in the event of further industrial trouble at the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company 's fields, sa3*s the Daily Express political eorrespondent, who adds that the Indian Government acted after consultation with the *■ British Cabinet. The India Oftice in London stated that there wras 110 question of troops going into Persia.
