WEDDING BELLS
MATSON— GILLON On July 6, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wanganui, b'y Rev. Father M. J. Burke, S.M., Maureen /Dawn, eidest daugnter oi Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Gillon, Levin, 'was united in marriage to Brian Ivan, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Matson, of Wanganui. The bride was escorted into. the church by Mr. F. Quin, and wore a gown of white satin, featuring a high pintucked yokeline, with a long, flowing train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of white winter roses. Her sheaf bouquet was of arum» lilies, roses and white violets. The bridesmaid, Miss Bernice Matson, wore a gown of honeygold taffeta, with a heart-shaped neckline and a full gored skirt. She carried a sheaf of iris, violets and jonquils, and wore a headspray of the same flowers. Mr. Ian Matson was best man. During the signing of the register, Miss Maureen Dobson, a friend of the bride's, accompanied by a choir of forty young boys, sang "Ave Maria." The reception was held at the R.S.A. Hall, where Mrs. Matson, wearing a rust suit, with a spray of spring flowers, and brown accessories, received over fifty guests. The bridal couple later left for the north. They plan to make their* future home in Wanganui.
