WAIKANAE BEACH CLUB The first annual meeting of the Waikanae Beach Bowling Club will be held on August 10. The report say s that the committee has an immense asset in the site of the green, and at the same time a place of beauty. Lowgrowing shrubs will adorn the grounds, and at no time will obscure the outlook. Mr. Horton's advice as green superintendent had been carried out, and Messrs. Webb and Knight had done fine work. The banks had been formed ready for sowing and the planting of pungas, while about one tnousand bulbs had been donated by Messrs. Bertlesen and Angus. The green was surrounded. by a brush fence. Mr. Knight" was of the opinion that the green shou'ld be ready for play at the beginning of November. The principal task facing ihe committee were the qqescion of a paviiion and club amenities. ■ -
