A GOOD PROSPECT
Lord Elgin had his iirst start tor some months when he contested the Kennels Hack Handicap at Riccarton last Saturday, and tlie fuct that he was equal to securing second placing drew attention to his innnediate prospects at tlie C.J.C. Meeting. He lias gone on improviug during the week, and there is little doubt he will be one of the hardest to liead off in the Avonhead Hanclicap iu which he will be ridden by \V. J. Broughton.
