In the Winter Cup to be run pn the first day of the C.J.C. Grand National meeting at Riccarton, on Saturday, the number of acceptors was 36, which was four in excess of the safety number at the mile post, and Peter Theio, Sir Tague, Lexia and Lord Darnley were eliminated by ballot.
