CARD EVENING

Mr. and Mrs. M. McGilligan entertained a large party of bridge and 500 players at their home in Tasman Road in aid of Boy Scouts' funds. Japcnica and Iceland poppies, and other spring blooms. were massed around the rooms and these, combined with shaded lights and bright fires, provided a gay and delightful setting for happy games. Merry laughter soundod throughout the evening, as venturesome bidders crashed through rash judgment. Mr. Sutherland won the bridge prize, Mr. Cole the men's 500 and Miss Clarke the ladieg' 500, while Mrs. Mortiboy and Mrs. Letts carried off the muchcoveted bouquets, the gift of Mr. J. Meyer. After a delicious supper had been partaken of Mr. Berry, on behalf of scouts, proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. and Mrs. McGilligan. The next party will be on Tuesday, July 13, at Mr. and Mrs. Synnott's residence in Waerenga Road.
