Personal Mrs. Wickstead, who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs. Synnott, has left for her home in Stratford. Miss Valerie Synnott, who has oeen home on account of illness, nopes to return to her duties in Wellington on Monday. Mrs. Wastie, at present in the Palmerston North Hospital, is to be transferred to Wellington for special treatment. The funeral of the late Mr. Michael Coventry took place yesterday, when the remains were interred in the public cemetery in the presence of a large and representative gathering. Members of the Otaki Bowling Club acted as pall-bearers, while Canon Fry. assisted by the Rev. Paora Temuera, conducted the service at the All Saints' Church and also at the graveside. Indoor Basketball The following were the resul-ts of Tuesday's indoor basketball games: Checkees 19, Aces B 13; Rovers 30, Raukawa 7; Colts 10, Aces A 22; Checkers 20, Checks 10; Aces 13, Railways 12; Raukawa B 8, Aces 40. In the knock-out Checkers beat Eagles 10—9 in a close game.
