Iieecived AVedncstlay, 8.30 p.m. SYDNEY, July 31. Jn tlie Arbitration Court today, tlie acting Chief Judge, Mr. Drake Brockman, made a stirriug appeal to uitioii officials and senior members, to control "young and irresponsiblc liotheads who specialised in stirring up industrial stril'e." Counsel i'or the Chief Kailway Commissioner brought to the Conrt's noticc, overtime disputes at workshops and powerhouses involving over 7000 men and stated that the maximnm overtime to be worked was being tixed arbitrarily by stopwork meetings of employeGS. The -Judge reminded the parties of the system of round table conferences which had given satisfaetion over eleven years. "I iook to the unions to get control of this matter and restore discipline within their own ranks,"-he said. "You must control these yoimger people in the workshops if you don't want to jeopardise your claim for a 40 hours' week. Between us we have established a pretty good show in the railways, vastly improving wages and conditions. Don't let these young hotheads destroy this structure. Do something ahout it."
