WELLINGTON, July 29. The water position at Taupo continues to show improvement and with .96 inches of rain 011 Maturday, a rise of about two inches over the weekend was recorded. The State Hydro-eleefcrie Department stated today there was a chance of steady improvement in the level of the lake if the outflow was restricted by keeping down eonsumption of power by the present measures which would bo necessary until a safc amount of storage in the lake was secured. The slight rain at Lake Waikaremoana yesterday was not sulficient to prevent a small drop in the water level but Mangahao is full.
