WEDDING

BLINKHORNE— SKEWS A becoming gown of magnolia. satin was chosen by Joan Patricia. eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Skews, Wrigley Street,. Masterton, for her marriage at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, recently to William James, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Blinkhorne, Colombo Road, Masterton. The Ven Archdeacon H. S. I. Kenney officiated and Mr. Miller Hope presi'ded at the organ. Artistic floral decorations formed a pleasing setting. Escorted by her father, the bride made a charming picture in her long-waisted gown trimmed with true lover's knots made of pearls. Her full skirt and train were flnished with a satin and Drange blossom true lover's knot. Her long tulle veil fell from a coronet of o.range blossom to form a second train. The bride's shower bouquet was of lilies, roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Misses Joyce Merwood, of Otaki (chief) and Phylllis Vaughan, of Napier, cousins of the bridegroom, were dressed alike in blue embossed satin cut on lines similar to those of the bride. Both wore heartshaped halos of blue net trimmed with red. They carried shower bouquets of red chrysanthemums, anemones and maiden-hair fern. The little flower girl, Marie Collie, niece of the bride, was dressed in piiik embossed satin and wore a. heart-shaped halo of pink net. r.rimmed with blue and carried a basket of pink and blue flowers. Mr. Raymond Skews was best man and Mr. Ron Merwood, Otaki, was groomsman. As the bride left the church she was presented with two luckv horse-shoes, one by .her niece Luonie Collie, and the other by Devon Oakly, of Carterton. At a reception held in the Savage Club rooms, the guests were received by Mesdames Skews and Blinkhorne. The former was attired in a floral frock, fur coat and ! brown accessories and wore an ! autumn -tinted shoulder spray. ) Mrs. Blinkhorne wore a navy ensemble with navy accessories and wore an autumn-tinted shoulder spray. A feature of the reception was' a beautifully decorated threedecker cake made by the bride's mother and iced by Mr. Cockburne. The bridegroom 's gifts to the iridesmaids and flower girls were paua shell pendants. When Mr. and Mrs. Blinkhorne left later by car for the north the Dride wore a model frock of embossed cloque with an Australian blue hat and coat and navy accessorie^
