YOUNG FARMERS MEET
INTER-CLUB DEBATE The July meeting of the Levin Young Farmers' Club was held recently, when Mr. M..Rolston pre;ided over a good attendance of members. A number of ■ members from the Otaki Y.F.C. were also present. It was decided to ask Mr. E. R Winkler to give a lecture on farming overseas at the next meeting. After the business had been riealt with, a debate was held with a team from Otaki on "Stripping versus Non-stripping." A team was then chosen to represent the Horowhehua district in a debate with the Wanganui Club. Speakers in the debate were: — Levin: Messrs. T. Stewart, J. Penny and-.B. Bar.tholomew. Otaki: Messrs. R. Hillas. H. Jepson and D. Harper. Mr. N. M. Thomson, the adjudicator, •afterwards gave some advice on debating to those present. and awarde'd the decision to Otaki by a narrow margin. Members are remincled of the next meeting to be held on Thursday, August 1, and that the debate with Wanganui will be held in Levin on August 12, in the St. Mary's Hall.
