Boy Cyclist Fatally Hurt Fatal injuries were suffered by Robert Dennis Peters, aged -14, of Harewood Road, Papanui, when he was involved in a collision with a car while cycling in Harewood Road at 4.15 p.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch public liospital wherb he died about 5.40 p.m. The police believe that the motorist who did not stop, was the only occupant of the car and that the front of the car was damaged. School Terms In the House yesterday, Mr. J. T. Watts (Riccarton) gave notice to ask would the Minister of Education give consideration to shortening the winter term in the primary schools by one or two weeks, and adding the period saved to the spring and summer terms. In a note to the question he said that there was always a fair amount of sickness in the primary schools during the winter, and the shortening of the term would enable the children to spena some of the worst of the winter at home and allow them to recuperate. Prime Minister's Tribute "The women's institutes opened a life of culture and achievement which would otherwise be closed to countrywomen," said the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) at the Dominion conference in Wellington, after congratulating members on what had been accomplished in 25 years. He did not know of any other single agency in the community which had contributed more intellectual thought and pfogressive ideas. During his travels in England, America and Canada he had spoken with institute members of those countries, who - had told him how much the organisation meaht to countrywomen. Mr. Fraser traced the international trend of such a movement and the necessity of having women repretives of every country in the United Nations Orga'nisation. j
