MURDER OF R.A.F. MEMBERS Received Sundav, 7 p.m. LOXDOX, July 20. After a-relentless seafch since the end of the war, in the Harz MountainS, British war crimes inves'tigators rounded up 20 Dennan eivilians alleged b •have mufdered five meinbers of tho R.A.F. Ten rnembers of the R.A.F. were shot down near Strasburg cn route to bomb Beipz'fg in Marcli, 1945. Sev'en wefe inifnediately captured by the' Wehrmacht and ltept rnoving for three days without sleep, until they roached Profzlieim where thev were marched from one end of the town to tho other while eivilians stoned them. Gcrmans in civilian clothes lafer di'aggeil the airman lialf naked to a barn, through linos • >f raging eivilians. A Luftwaffe ofiicer tried to stop the mob. Two R.A.F. rnembers escaped during the seuffle, but ihe remainder, after being eruolly beaten on their heads, were dragged to a cemeterv and shot. Oue of the three who originally escaped was captured and shot, his body being thrown into a ffuarrv.
