DUNEDIN BENEFITS.

DUNEDIN, July 19. The shipping dispute on the West Coast has proved a blessing in disguise as far as the eitv gasworks are concerned. Already this week between 500 and 600 tons of coal from Westport have been received and the cliairman of the gas committee said today that the only fac-tor governing the arrival of stocks was the availability of railwav trucks. Owing to the hold-up of ships at the West Coast ports, supplies had aecumulated on the wliarves and there wa§ no difficulty at present in obtaining coal, althougli it had not been jiossible to act'umuJate any reserves.
