CARD EVENING
Mrs. Synnott was hostess for a .nost enjoyable card evening at.her some in Waerenga Road in aid of the Boy Scouts' fund. lceland poppies and spring fiowers decoraxed the card rooms, where eight tabies were occupied by piayers After keen competition, many vicissitudes and much merrimenx, the prizes feil to Mrs. Ralph, witli top score for the ladies, and Mr. Berry, first for the men. Mrs. Sutlierland won the lucky chair and Mr. Jensen the sealed number, while the lovely daphne bouquets went to Miss Clarke and Mr. McGilligan. A delicius supper was provided by Mesdames Synnott, Berry, Henwood and Evans, and the Scouts Committee. AL"- Berry, on belialf bf t,he Scouts, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Synnott for the use of their home, and all voted it to be one of the jolliert parties they had ever attended. Mrs. McGilligan has kindly offered her home in Tasman Road for the next party on Tuesday, July 30.
