Watts (Riccarton) asked the Minister of Mai' keting whether it was with his a)) proval that the Director of Marketing, Mr. Ross Fraser, who was a paid Government4 servant, attended a meet ing of c.ooperative societies in Palmerston North and made a political speech. Mr. Watts said it had been reported tliat at this meeting Mr. Ross Fraser said: "When the Internal Marketing Divisioii holped producers who were finaneially xinsound in 1957, the producers called it legitimate Government assistanee but the producers are prosperous, they are prone to call sucli assistanee unwarrantablc Government interference.
