' While waiting sentence from j"higher authority" after being found' guilty of high treason by j Jewish People's Higher Court, the ;Czech Jew, Benjamin Papanek, 'slipped his handcuifs and escaped !from the Jewish terrorists holding :him. Reuter's Jerusalem corresjpondent says this was officially irevealed to-day, when it was jannounced that the Palestine .police were now protectively holdjing Papanek. ! Papanek stated that he was ibeaten and kicked for eight days iby his captors in trying to force ;him to admit that he gavc jinformation to the British military 1 authorities. A medical examination showed (that Papanek was suffering from Imultiple bruises, abrasions and Ismall circular wounds, stated to |have been caused by cigarettes.
