LOCKING OF GRANDSTAND
BOROUGH COUNCIL'S COMMENT' Comment made in "The Chron- ' icle" on the fact that the grand- > stand at the Levin Domain was locked last Saturday afternoon4 making it necessary for football spectators to stand in the rain, was referred to at a meeting of the Levin Borough Council on Monday night. j "There is no earthly reason why it should not have been used," remarked the Mayor (Mr. H. B. Burdekin), in asking who was re- j sponsible for the gates to the stand being locked. The engineer (Mr. K. W. Sand- | ford) said it was never intended I that the stand was to be locked. ! That it was came as a surprise to him. He did not know who was responsible for doing so. The Mayor added that it was necessary for the stand to be in good order and available when the domain was being used.
