It is now announced that Geofge Dunham, a farmer, of Tokoroa, in the Putaruru district, has been selected as the oflicial candidate of the Labour Party for the Waikato electorate. He has taken a prominent part in district affairs. Returning from the Victory Parade held in London on June 8, Sergeant .A. C. Hulme, V.C., of Te Puke, has arrived in Auckland from Sydney by flying-boat. Sergeant Hulme travelled from England by air, He said the Maunganui, which is bringing the New Zealand contingent home, would now be passing through the Red Sea.
