Tlie action marks the spreading of tne dispnle on lighting and heating or coiislal ships. At the weekend only one slenmer, Ihe Union Uo. Korowai, was held up, Ihe crew supporting similar action liy the Westport seamen. The crew of Ihe same Company's eollier Kaimiro joined Ihe Korowai 's complenienl today and ihe steamer was unable lo leave for Westport to load anotlier coal cargo. Four Northern Steamslup Co. motor vessels whicli wero expected to sail tonight were also held in port. At Onehunga, Ihe Anchor Line steamer Kaitoa was expected to sail early tomorrow morning for Nelson, but lier crew informed ihe master that they mtended Lo attend the stopwork meeting. The motor vessel Hokianga is ready to sail for Hokianga, but has been delayed for some days tli rough tlie shortage of a cook.
