Tree toma- • toes have improved in values, i while the demand remains for Chinese gooseberries, hothouse : tomatoes and all varieties of citrus. t Bulbs have also been sought, while , violets, irises, poppies and freesias have all been placed to advantage. With colder weather prevailing, most varieties of vegetables have met with demand; cabbages, cauliflowers, sprouts and pumpkim being sought, while a very keen enquiry exists for kumeras. Values for prime birds have again been maintained, smaller suppiies being offered. Quotations are: — Tree tomatoes, 25/-, 40/-; Chinese gooseberries, 27/-, 42/6 |-case; all citrus, ceiling; hothouse tomatoes, 1/6, 3/4 lb; cabbages, parsnips, pumpkins, ceiling; carrots, 8/-, 14/-; cauliflowers, 14/-, 35/-; marrows, 14/-, 23/6 sack; beetroot, 4/6. 12/6; celery 16/-, 28/-; leeks, 16/-, 19/; spinach, 22/-, 35/-; sprouts, 25/-, 65/-; rhubarb, 18/-, 33/-; turnips, 5/-, 12/- case. Hens, heavy, 6/-, 14/6; light, 4/-, 7/-; cockerels, according to weight, 5/-, 12/6; pullets, 6/-. 19/-; roosters, 5/-, 8/-; geese, 7/-, 9/-; ducks, young, 7/-, 14/6; old, 3/6, 9/-; turkeys, 1/10. 2/4 lb. live weight.
