DRAMA CLUB EVENING The Otaki W.I. Drama Club ecently spent a very happy and njoyable evening. 'In the early iart of the evening they entercained the sanatorium patients with two plays, "Tuaor Thorns" and "Bailey's Crowded Hour." Those taking part in the former .vere Misses V. Synnott, J. Hick,on, P. Fogden, H. Lea, E. Empson, ;. Mills and Mesdames Empson nd Berry, and in the latter play virs. Lumley, Mrs. Hewitson. Misses P. Ralph and V. Synnott and Messrs. J. E. James, A. Lum.ey, H. Townrow and I. Taylor. The second part of the evening ,ook the form of a social gathering it the home of Miss R. Mills in nonour of Miss V. Synnott, who aas accepted a position in Wellingcon. Mrs. J. Harrington, in a few well-chosen words on" behalf of the members, presented Valerie with a. handsome black leather Jenny,vren travelling bag. Miss Mills then spoke of the pleasure a cast always had when playing opposite Valerie, as she was at all times so helpful and co-operative. Miss Synnott suitably replied and -after all singing "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow" the evening proceeded with games and items, an outstanding item being a trio rendered by Messrs. H. Townrow. j.
