FEDERATED FARMERS

WOMEN'S DIVISION MEET Mrs. C. Guerin presided over the monthly meeting of the Shannon branch of the Women 's Division of the Federated Farmers, held on Monday afternoon, fourteen members being present. The delegates to the annual conference and the members wno attended thc birthday celebrations held in Wellington last week, reported oi all phases of the proceedings. While in the capital eity, some members attended Parliament and their impressions were related. The flower show schedule was dlscussed and hints given on making lemon peef. Tlie results of the competitions held were as follows: — Decorated saucer: Mrs. L. H. Best 1. Mrs. A. R. Mills 2; three wholemeal scones: Miss Doreen Ward 1, Mrs. A. R. Mills 2, Mrs. J. Stevens 3; handerchief: Mrs. C. Guerin 1, Mrs. J. Stevens 2, Mrs. A. R. Mills 3. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames U. Dujanyand J. Stevens. The next meeting will be held on Monday, August 5, and the hostesses for that afternoon are Mesdames C. Stern and E. Chester.
