WORK IN BOROUGH

FOREMAN'S MONTHLY FvEPORT Work carried out in the borough during the past month was reported on as follows by the actingforeman ..(Mr. B. R. Beil) at Wednesday's. meeting of the Otaki Borough Council. "The following loads of metal have been carted: Beach front i. loads, Toi Street 3, Moana Street 3, Riverbank Road and Kirk Street 6. Rangiuru Road 4, Paremata Street 6 and haunches Waerenga Road 2. Loads of spoil have been carted as under: Borough yard 7, Tasman Beach Camp 10 and Rangiuru road-filling 3. The following roads have been graded: Rangiuru Road, Paremata Street, Moana Street, Toi Street and Marine Parade, and Ihe haunches of Waerenga Road. Water channels have been kept" fiear and pot-holes in the maca:1am roads have been repaired as much as possible. Pot-holes in Waerenga Road have been filled with colasmix. "Tanks and filter houses at the waterworks have been cleaned during the month. Two new balls md rubber washers nave been fitted in leaking fire plugs in Iladfield Street. The lawns at the rest :esort and library section have ieen kcpt cut. The painting of the Duilding and fence has been comDleted. The grandstand and atrines at the Otaki Domain have Decn kept clean. The drain in Dunstan Street has been cleaned. rhe drain between the main highway and Dunstan Street has been :ut straight and cleaned." The council adopted the report.
