— V MR. COOKSLEY WILL NOT BE A ' CANDIDATE Mr. B. V. Cooksley, who was the official National Party candidate m the Otaki electorate in 1943-, has advised the chairman of that electorate that he will not be available for selection this year. In his letter to the electorate Mr. Cooksley, who is at present in England with a delegation repre.enting New Zealand farmers-, ioointed out that having accepted iie privilege of going o.verseas as a representative of the farmers, he :elt that on his return the farmers ' and their organisation .hould have first claim on his ser/ices. This would not be possible f he entered the political field.
