Fraser expcssed his agreement and said he wondered if it were not possible to eontinue the broadeasts from the llouso by some means between 5 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. when stations went off the air. While mauy listeners might consider an orchestra more harmonious than Parliament, they had the option of obtaining sueh programmes from other stations. It was enibasrassing and uufair to roria in speakers when the interrnption of broadeasts from the House oeeurred. Mr. Maekley. Australia will be in eompetition with us now. , Ilon. F. The Electricity Controller had explained that it was im'possible to eontinue tlie broadeasting ot Parliament between 5 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. , j beeause that was the period of greatest , demand for powor. Mr. Jones undertook to inquire whether the 9 p.m. break . eould be elimiuated by having the news , broadeast from other stations.
