WORKERS RECOMMENDED TO RETURN TO JOBS

The disputes committee of tlie Trades and Labour Council today recommonded nieatworkers, coalminers and watersiders to call a niass meeting of members and recommended a return to work on conditions guaranteed in the Government order, and tlie holdiug of a conference between Ihe Government and .Miners' Federation 011 July 12 to discuss an improved Coal Alines Iiegulations Act and other improved conditions for tlie. Queeiislaml mines. In recoinmending the unions assoeiated in the dispute to return in an orderly inanner, tlie disputes committee urge\l them to keep their organisations in order to fight for the i()-hour week, an increase in tlie basie wage and other reforms. A niass meeting of nieatworkers later today is expected to endorse resumption. The decision of the coalminers ancl watersiders is expected to do the some tomorrow. The engineers have already resumed at the meatworks in preparation for the opening on Eriday. The power and liglit restrictions are expected to renmin until at least Alouciay.
