BOWLING NOTES
PARAPARAUMU BEACH CLUB The annual meeting of the Paraparaumu Beach Bowling Ciub, which will be held on July 12, promises to be very successfui, the interest being taken being considerable. The membership at the close of last season was no less than 108 — 56 active, 22 associate ancl 16 ladies. The championship club games were won as follows: — Juniors singles: A. Henderson; senior singles: A. V. Swanson; pairs: A. V. Swanson and S. M. Stone (s) ; rinks: L. Coles, J. R. Wiison, A. V. Petherick and S. G. Batt-en (s) . Springhall ;nemorial cup: A. Patterson, A. Oliver, H. Walton and H. Starr (s). The Hughes trophy was won by J. R. Wiison, D. Jenkins, W. Scott and A. V. Petherick, and the Davidson memorial bowl by McMurtie, J. Griggs, Odlum aria Batten (s). During the season games were played on 186 days, while the total number of bowlers on the green was 3915 men and 274 ladres. Seats were donated by Messrs. J. D. Brown, L. Evans, M. W. Higginson, W. G. McCulloch, A. V. Petherick, T. R. RicKetts, W. W. Scoot and W. Stewart, while donors to the seats fund were Messrs. H. Davidson', J. Wiison, 'H. Starr and H. Walton. Others who assisted were Messrs. ^T. =H. Hughes, T. K. Henderson, "V7. Blythe, F. Paul,- -H. Morris, G,- Morrison^ and R-. B. Thompson.
