Personal Mrs. C. Robertson is leaving for a sojourn in Hamilton. Mrs. Gecfrge Murrell left for Auckland last night on account of ohe serious illness of a sister. Miss Hodges, late matron of the Health Camp, has been visiting friends in Otaki. . . Miss Pemberton, an erstwhile resident of the. district, has been at the local post office in Otaki on official duties. Mr. and Mrs. Edmonds, of the Auckland district, are at present the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pullrnan, of Te Horo. Among the visitors to Otaki at the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Boyne, well-known residents of Waverley. . Mr. "Ted" McKenzie, ex-All Black and ex-selector of New Zealand representative football teams, is at present seriously ill at his home in Carterton.
The death occurred last week of Mrs. Sinkinson, of Devonport, Auckland. The deceased was wellknown in this district, having tesided at Te Horo for a number of years. The late Mrs. Sinkinson, who was 62 years of age, leaves a husoand and family of six to mourn their loss. Tlie funeral of the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Syd. Edwards took place yesterday when the body was interred in the Catholic cemetery in the presence of a number of relatives and friends. Several lovely floral tributes were placed on the coffin. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Father Chaney. Mr. and Mrs. Clarrie Moore. who have been residing in the Levin dis- ■ crict, take up permanent residence in Otaki in the course of a couple of weeks, having purchased the property of Mr. R. Gower, in Domain Road. Mr. Moore, an exWairarapa representative footbailer, should be an acquisition to ,pon m Otaki. Otaki Health Camp During the past week a further 84 children were admitted to the King George V Health Camp, Otaki, and they will stay at the camp for six weeks. Three experienced, teachers are provided by the Wellington Education Board to attend to the children's education while they are at the camp. Hockey in Horowhenua It was thirteen years ago yesterday since Horowhenua sent a lepresentative hockey team to ■ Hawera to piay for the Norden cup. j U'he team comprised W. Fielding, E. Baines, S. Accident at Manakau An accident occurred on the bnuge south of Manakau at about six o'ciock on Saturday evemng, when a car driven by Mr. N. F. Hastings, of Lyail Bay, struck the coping of the structure and was bactiy damaged. After receiving attention two passengers were oaken oy ambulance to Wellington. . Ihe car, at the time of the accident, was proceeding south to wellington.
