NO TIME FOR SUPERSTITION
For a while, Ron Randell, star of "Smithy," followed the time nonoured theatrical tradition of being super-superstitious. He collected superstitions just like other people collect stamps or facing guides. But came a time when he found that most of his energy was devoted to placating the gods of luck, and he called an abrupt halt. However, just in case there should be something in the idea, Ron retained a few samples. No whistling in the dressing room— and no half pennies in his pocket, ever. The last number is constantly causing him embarrassment, as honest souls continually run after him to return his "lost" property.
