FEDERATED FARMERS

SHANNON BRANCH MEETS Mr. J. McNeile presided over thc Shannon branch of Federated Farmers at their monthly meeting held in the Druids' Hall on Saturday evening, some twenty members being in attendance. A lengthy diseussion v/as held in connection with the means of collecting fats for Britain. Members deeided that the field day on gcneral farming should be carried on. and it was agreed that Massey College should be approached in ordcr to' arrange a suitable date. It was agreed that the branch should obtain from the Shannon veterinary surgeon information on the inoculation of dogs as a means of preventing distemper. It was also deeided to ask the veterinary surgeon to deliver an address at the next monthly meeting. Messrs. McNeile and G. G. Mitchell, who were delegated to the provincial conference, presented their report and explained remits and the various opinions expressed at the conference.
