Result of Conference with Prime Minister

AUCKLAND, July 3. After a conference with. the Prime Minister which lastecl for half an hour, officials of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Union telephoned officials of the Auckland union tonight reeomrnending them to load 16,000 hoxes of butter on the Matson liner Mariposa. It is understood this dccision was made on the understanding that tlie Prime Minister would make^a further statement which would satisfactorily explain the points raised by Ihe watersides. The executive of the Auckland Union will meet at eig'ht o'clock in the morning to eonsider the Prime Minister 's statement and if a decision to loal is roached, work will start immediately and the sliip will be in port tuiti] Saturday. If, however, the Pnme Minister 's statement is repcted by the executive, the ship will sail on Friday for Sydney. It is possible a full meeting of the Watersiders' Union will be held after the executive meeting, to discuss the matter.
