MATRON'S FINE SERVICE
FUNCTION OF APPRECIATION ARRANGED At a public meeting,- held at Otfiki on Tuesday, it was decided to express to Mrs; F. E. Evans, the retiring matron . of the Otaki Maternity Hospital, the community's appreciation of her good services by entertaining her at an afternoon tea function, to be held j at the Anglican Hall at 2.30 p.m, on | Thursday, July 18. ... The function is to be a public one 1 and everyone will be welcome. It is being held in the afternoon to enable mothers especially to be present. The headmaster of the Otaki State Schooi has kindly undertaken to distribute invitations to parents through the schooi children. A committee was set up to arrange the function and it comi prises the Mayoress (Dr. E. G. lAtmore), Mesdames Mortiboy, Mor- ; ton, W. Wiison, Southgate and Moss, Sisters Elliott and Curtis, Mr. E. H. Moffatt, representing the Returned Services' Association, nf jwhom Mrs. Evans is a foundation imembeiv and Mesdames McGilligan and Anderson as joint secreitaries. i To assist in the catering arrange - ments, those intending to be present are requested to notify either of the secretaries or any other member of the committee as soon a.; possible. Several .apologies for absence at the meeting were read with offers to assist in every way.
