j\Ir. W. P. Russell, Palmerston North, I has been appointed handicapper to the Wellington Racing Club, to succeed Mr. H. Coyle, who has resigned. There were 22 ajtplicants for the position. AT r. Russell has been judge for the Wellington club for 20 years, and hisi resiguation from "this position was acce[)ted yesterday by the stewards.
