As a result of Saturdav 's racing tln contest for the jockeys' premiership of the current racing season has beconie even more interesling. (i. Ilughes and N. B. llolland are nou equal at Ihe Jiead ol! the list with -IS wins each, and only one point ahead oi \V. J. Brougliton, -17 wins. Ilughes was the only one of the three leading riders to pilot a winner on Saturdav, being successful on Horonui, at the Waikato meeting. In addition he also had seconds on Broiealice and Trustful. llolland also rode at Te Iiapa, where his only placing was a secQud on Hunt ing 3dac. Brougliton was engaged at Hastings and his mounts wero all unplaced.
