To date no advice has ' been received as to the numbers ' required by the two clubs concern- : ed, but local members .selected will be advised when it comes to hand. j Club Doings After many week-ends of perfect : golfing conditions, local golfers on ! saturday afternoon .last struck somewhat unpleasant weather for : almost the v/hole afternoon's round. 1 A keen southerly wind definitely made scoring difficult, but the keenness that has been evident throughout the season i(among the members prevailed once "more, and all players completed their rounds in true golfing style. One. of the 1 most pleasing features of the play was again the attendance of the ■ older * club members, who batthd 1 manfully in conditions entlrely ; foreign to their liking. While their | scoring is not first class in many ; cases, their enthusiasm for the game is always admired by their : younger fellow members, and such : good club spirit will always be of tremendous value to the club as a ; whole. While few club trophies fall | to the lot of the older membei"s. 1 their regular attendance proves jthat the winning of any game is ; really secondary to the enjoyment they derive from their .week-end ! Play. Mention has beeia-made.m previous notes regarding the services of i a visiting professional and his - engagement, if sufficient numbers warranted his engagement. Advice . has now been received by the club j committee that the professional in question is definitely open for i engagement during July. While tne ilists provided for the tentative ; engagement are still open. many ' club members have not signified j their intention of taking lcssohs.-Tc ;enable the committee to engage or ! decline the propos.ed visit, all members wishing to take lessons are urged to advise the club secretary
1 of their intentions so that arrange- i | ments in this direction may be fin- ; i alised. j
