MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

ASSOCIATION FORMED At a meeting held in Levin recently of members of miniature i rifle clubs of the district, the Horoi whenua Miniature Rifle Association ; was formed. Mr. A. L. Lumsden | was unanimously elected first president Mr. W. Benning secretary and [ Mr. 'j. G. Horn, Senr., deputy- : president. ! The meeting was attended by two ' delegates from each of the Levin, Ohau, Poroutawhao, Shannon and Tokomaru clubs. On the motion of Mr. J. G. Horn, Senr., secQnded by | Mr. V. G. Hunter, it was decided to form those present into the com- : mittee of the Horowhenua Miniai ture Rifle Association. A rules comi mittee corisisting of the delegates of ; the central clubs present was formed, with the object of studying the rules of the New Zealand Miniature Rifle Association for 1 adoption, adding any other rules necessary for the use of the Horo- ; whenua Association. Affiliation fees ; were fixed at £1 per club for the season. it was decided to have three grades of teams for -inter-club matches, each fceam to consist of five, who would be taken from the first fifteen on the club's scoring ladder. Also, that the names of each team be handed to captains ; of opposing teams before the commencement of association matches, ' and further that a copy of results signed by the captains of the teams should be handed in to the secretary of .the association within two days of the particular match. . j The secretary was instructed to write to the Oroua Downs Miniature Rifle Club, inviting the club to join ; the association. A draw of two rounds of matches was made before the meeting closed. ! The president, in concluding ths meeting, thanked all those present, particularly Mr. M. Wright for the use of his premises.
