Personal Messrs. W. Rolston, K. Wood, M. Robertson and-L. Pratt, of the State Forestry Service, National Park, v/ere visitors to Shannon over the week-ehd. Mr. M. Peach, of the P.W.D. staff, Gisborne, was visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Peach, Ballance Street, for the week-end. Another Shannon young man afeationed at Gisborne, Mr. T. King, was also a visitor to Shannon for the weekend. Basketball Results Shannon's three basketball teams were defeated in their Saturday matches. The A team lost to College Old GliTs A 12—11. the B team to Coiiege • C 9 — 6 and the C toam to Primary A 7 — 0.
