Bv Telegraph-
WELLINGTON, June 27.-' The 67-foot ketch Viking is still outside the Heads and- is invisible in thick fog. A launch attempfed to tow her in yesterday, but the swell prevented putting a lihe aboard. v The Viking arrived off Cape Ralliser seven days out from Auckland yesterday morning. Mr. Bryan Todd, who recently took over the Viking, which was formerly owned by Sir Ernest Davis, of Auckland, left Wellington yesterday in the launch Rahemo with some relatives'of the ketch to make. contact with the Viking. After cruising for about 30 miles they found the ketch, which had been almost becalmed since 9 a.m., though a heavy swell was on at the time. Owing to the distance from Wellington and the sea conditions, it was not eonsidered advisable to j take the Viking in tow, and thel Rahemo returned to Wellington ! about 7 p.m. The Viking is manned by a crew of seven, Messrs. R. Langford, of Auckland, and L. Moore, J. Holmes,; R. Kerr, W. McfCay, J, Leslie gnd J.j Heaven, all of Wellington. Mr. Todd; has had her partihlly refitted andl will carry out further alterations, j including the" installation of anj engine in Wellington. j
