POWER REVENUE INCREASES
FIRST TWO MONTHS OF YEAR Revenue earned by the Horowhenua Electric Power Board' in the .first two months of its fin.ancia.1 y.ear amounted to £11,006:, according to a report made to the board meeting yesterday by the managingsecretary (Mr. R. A. Frederikson) . "This is an increase of £433 for the 'supie- peri'od last year,"- he added. "Revenue has increased under all .headings with 4he major increase. under domestic supply," Mr. Frederikson continued. "During the p.eriod under review, almost eontinuous rationing has been necessary. Unfortunately the levels of Lake Taupo and Lake Waikaremoana have not improved, with the. .result that the supply position is still precario.us. In the event of a eold snap covering the whole of the North Island, peak load reduction would be necessary in addit|on to unit reduction. With the poultry iarmers commencing hatching and rearing of chickens. it has been necessary to restrict cut-offs to 15 minutes duration, With the result tha.t a number of .the staff have been employed almost entirely on rationing:" * '
