SHANNON BOWLING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING Mr. R. Bibby presided over the annual meeting of the Shannon Bowling Club, held in the Council Chambers ' on Thursday evening. Those present were Messrs. E. Spencer, L. Hook, I. Hemmingsen, F Edmonds, J. T. Bovis, R. Mills, T. Bell, E. Thorne, " S. Morrison, R. Hook, A. Birss, J. Alexander, E. Hook and H. Norris. The Croquet Club's interests were in the hands of Mesdames J. A. Roachr T. Bell and S. Morrison. In the election of officers, the offices of president and secretary were held over, the present officers carrying on in the meantime. Mr. F. Edmonds was elected vice-presi-dent; green superintendent, Mr. R. Hook; delegate to the centre, Mr. H. W Bovis (Palmerston North) ; hon. auditor, Mr. J. T. Bovis; greens committee, Messrs. S. Morrison, A. Birss and L. Hook; selectors, Messrs. A. R. Mills, L. Hook and -R. Bibby. It was moved that a letter of thanks be sent to Mr. C. Young, the green-keeper, for the very efficient manner in which he had earried out his duties over the past season. It .was stated that the condition ot the greens was a credit to him. The greens superintendent, Mr. R. Hook, spoke at some length with regard to the work on the greens, i and thanked the members for their i co-operation and assistance to the ' greens committee. t In his report, the president, Mr. R. Bibby, made reference to the j loss of two of the club's prominent members, Messrs. W. H. Behrens ii and C. Hook, during the season just ; | closed. Mr. Bibby stated that thc season had been a very successful one and some most enjoyable bowling had been piayed. He hoped that ii members would be just as keen nnext season.
