? Keceiv.ed Monday, 8.0 p.m. NEW YOEK, June 23. The Columbia Broadcastjng Sy,stem 's correspondent aboard U.S.S. McKinley off Bikini, reports that Viee- Admiral AV. H. P. Blandy, who commands the U.S, Navy Joint Task Force, is completely satished with the test in which a dnmmy atom homb was dropped from a Fortress. Correspondents slightly over ten miles from the bomb, said it appeared to explode with a yellow flame between the battleship Nevada and the light crujser Ipdependence, at a height of 1000 to 1500 feet. Observers on th.e flagship" were unable to see the Fortress which released the bomb. High Task Force officers were pleased with the experiment. Major-Cleneral William Kepner, who followed the bombing plane's progress closely, told reporters that "the drop was quite all right — very good.''' Viee-Aclmiral Blandy commented: "I hope the real show is as good as the rohearsal."
