CABLE TRANSMISSION
AMAZINLr SPEED OF NEW MACHINE Received Monday, 7.15 p.m. LONDON, June 24. A machipe capable of handling all Britain's daily outgoing cable traffic ip three minutes, was the sitbject of experinients by Mr. J. L. Baird, British television pioneer, just before his recent death. Cahle and WireLess Ltd. has hrought Baird 's experinients near fruition and hopes to use the invention soon. The machine will Pou^ out messages from Britaju to the world at 250,000 words a minnte, contrasting with the present maehine's rate of 120 words a minute.
