Because of the cane'elling of the' trains which leave Palmerston Norlh at_ 7.12 ajn . and from Wellington at 8.20' a.m. through the shortage of coal, Ihe early morning mails between J'almerston North and Wellington wiil lie carried by a motor-lorry as from today. The chief postmaster at Palmerston North (Mr. M: R. Aldridge) statedthat lorries from Palmerston North and from Wellington will leave simultaneously, and will meet approximal-oly half-wav between the two eities to exchange mails. This operation is expected to continue for some time.
