HAWKE'S BAY BOARD IS SUSPICIOUS
HASTINGS, June IS. "It would seem that if we olfend at the same time as .Auckland, then it is all right but if Auckland doesn't otfend but we and other boards do, tlicn we are jumped on, " said Mr. H. H. Wylie, general manager of-the Hawke's Bay PoA\*er Board, at its meeting today, when a report that the Auckland Power Board had exceeded its quota by 500,000 uuits without any subsequent action being taken against that board. was discussed. The board had referred the report to the Minister of Works who denied that any discrimination in favour of Auckland or any other authority, had been practised. Mr. Wylie pointed otit that the Minister did not say wliether or not Auckland did exceed its quota but it could be assumed under the circumstances that it did. Board members agreed there was an element of suspicion that preferential treatment was being accorded major supply authorities and agreed that a careful watch be maintained on the positiou.
